Former England skipper and Channel Nine commentator, Tony Greig, has died of lung cancer at the age of 66, according to a statement released by the Nine network and which has been reported in the Sydney Morning Herald. Mr. Greig became aware of the problem during the ODI series between Pakistan and Australia in September 2012.

Mr. Greig was earlier diagnosed with Bronchitis in May but the condition lingered on. During the T20 WC 2012 World Cup in Sri Lanka in October, Greig had tests that revealed a small lesion at the bottom of his right lung. On returning to Australia, he had fluid removed from the right lung and in subsequent tests, he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
