Day 4 India declare 326/9 (143 overs)
Ojha scored 3 off 32 balls and Ashwin declined singles in the first 2 overs of the day. No boundaries were scored today and India added only 29 runs. That leaves them declaring with 4 runs behind England's first innings score.

Day 4 Lunch England 17/0 (13 overs)
England's openers negotiate the first hour successfully and go into lunch with no damages done. Only 17 runs were scored in the 13 overs but they are looking extremely solid.

Day 4 Tea Time 81/2 (46.4 overs)
India have removed the openers and the wicket is gradually starting to assist spinners. Interesting times ahead. Trott has been positive and the next batsman - KP - will surely look to attack.

Day 4 Stumps 161/3 (79 overs)
England have done well to come out of a tricky situation. Trott and Bell put on a determined stand to arrest a slide. They were vulnerable after the dismissal of Pietersen and India were sensing an opening but it was quickly shut down. The pitch has not posed too many concerns for the batsmen. There is some assistance for the spinners but the slowness has allowed the batsmen to play it comfortably. India were very cheerful as they walked out.

Jonathan Trott helped England end the fourth day in an advantageous position owing to a resilient knock of 66 off 153 balls. On a pitch that had some awkward bounce and a bit of assistance for the spinners, Trott managed to hold fort to keep the bowlers at bay. The most significant aspect of the innings was the fact that it came under heavy pressure from the Indians, owing to the amount of sledging that Trott was victim to.
