Day 3 Lunch India 146/4 (73 overs)
A good session for India. They made 59/0 in it. Both batsmen battled it out admirably. England gave nothing away either. The bowlers were disciplined but Dhoni and Kohli stuck to their task.

Day 3 Tea Time India 227/4 (100 overs)
India scored 81/0 in the session and both of them are looking well set at the crease. England tried a lot of things but nothing worked. Surprising that Anderson has bowled only 8 overs in the day though.

Day 3 Stumps 297/8 (130.1 overs)
Quite a fascinating day that. India were calling all the shots until the last hour of the day. Dhoni and Kohli batted with a lot of determination for the better part of the day. Kohli could not convert his 100 into a big one. India were still looking well set with Dhoni batting calmly but his run out in the fag end of the day turned the complexion of the game around. With 4 wickets in the last hour, England will now entertain hopes of taking a lead.

After receiving immense criticism from former players and experts, Mahendra Singh Dhoni managed to defy the odds and played a very uncharacteristic innings to keep India’s hopes alive in the 4th Test. In an innings that defined the word determination, Dhoni managed to battle it out on a tough wicket to bat on and scored a fighting 99.
